United States law requires us to disclose detailed information about what kinds of email you may receive by providing your email address to us.

As explained in our Privacy Policy, we do not send spam, and we do not share your email address with anyone else that would spam you. You can turn off most email that we send through your account configuration page, and you can stop all email from us at any time by canceling your account through that same page.

As part of your membership, you may receive the following kinds of email from us:

Service and Feature Announcements. On average, we send these out once a month. They are usually to announce new features available on iATN, or to highlight something on the network you may be interested in. We require all members receive these emails so that we can stay in touch.

TechHelp Automotive Email. The heart of iATN is our Q&A system powered by our members. Here you can ask and offer help to other members. We subscribe new members to some of these topics by default, but you can turn any of the TechHelp email off or on as you see fit, or switch to and from daily digest formats if you prefer.

iATN Review Newsletter. This newsletter email is sent to all members once every quarter, and highlights many of the great member-contributed posts from the iATN website for the past quarter.

Support and Billing Email. If you send email to our support or billing department, or if we notice you asking for help on our site, we may contact you via email to help resolve your problem. In addition, if you pay for a premium membership on iATN, we will send you billing-related email, such as invoice notices, late notices, etc.

Premium Membership Promotions. Occasionally we send basic subscribers a promotion of our premium membership features via email. Our goal is to make basic subscribers aware of these features, and not to make you sick of hearing about them, so these emails are sent very, very rarely. You can cancel (or upgrade :) your account at any time to turn them off.

Transactional and Other Email. iATN is an interactive website. Many of our features allow you to interact with other members, sometimes via email. Some features of our site allow you to request information via email. Some features of our premium memberships allow you to request contact from potential customers. Typically you can control what kinds of email you receive, but in any event, you will be able to stop all email by canceling your account.

Our services are intended only for professionals working in, or retired from, the automotive industry. Members are required to have at least 4 years of automotive industry experience, ASE certification, or both.

As an iATN member you are expected to offer assistance to others on iATN prior to asking for help yourself. You are also expected to have full access to the tools and technical resources of a properly equipped automotive repair facility, and to use those resources before asking the group for help.

Our rules and guidelines serve to keep iATN at a professional level, available only for those in the industry.
